ARMEDANGELS is a German, sustainable fashion brand that primarily produces clothing for the lifestyle sector and is committed to changing social responsibility and awareness about fast fashion.

In 2007, the Eco-Label ARMEDANGELS by Anton Jurina and Martin Hoefeler in Cologne. The aim was and is to fairest fashion brand on the market In 2009, you won the “Business Week Startup Competition” award for the ARMEDANGELS business model.

10 years after its founding, ARMEDANGELS has created a clear profile and is now one of the largest Eco & Fair Fashion labels in Europe . ARMEDANGELS has now acquired important Certifications: "GOTS", "Fairtrade", "Peta Vegan Approved" and “Fair Wear Foundation” .

Organic is not a trend or an option for ARMEDANGELS. Organic is an absolute must. When manufacturing its products, ARMEDANGELS relies exclusively on sustainably produced materials such as organic cotton, organic wool (kbT), organic linen, recycled polyester, Lenzing Modal Edelweiss and Tencel®. Compliance with strict ecological criteria along the entire supply chain is ensured by certification according to the international textile standard Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) secured.

No matter whether you are a cotton farmer in India, a seamstress in Turkey or a designer in Germany – ARMEDANGELS is committed to fair working conditions and fair pay for the people who make up the label. Compliance with these requirements is ensured by the independent organizations Fairtrade and the Fair Wear Foundation. Fair Wear Foundation is a global initiative that works to improve social standards in textile production.

Why are the terms “fair & eco” for many in contradiction to "modern & beautiful" ? For ARMEDANGELS, this is not a question, but a challenge. At ARMEDANGELS, we love beautiful products and sustainable, modern design. Instead of chasing trends, ARMEDANGELS focuses on timeless fashion. Instead of inferior mass-produced goods, ARMEDANGELS offers high quality and sustainable collections. ARMEDANGELS make honest & fair products without a lot of frills.

The main thing is that it is fast and cheap. Fast fashion industry booming, Wage slavery is still the order of the day and with it the use of genetic engineering, pesticides, neurotoxins and enormous amounts of water. ARMEDANGELS is fed up with the indifference and disrespect with which the environment is treated. For ARMEDANGELS, organic is not a trend but an attitude and responsibility towards the environment is not an option but a must. That is why ARMEDANGELS relies on renewable raw materials and recycled & regenerative materials.

ARMEDANGELS is extremely committed to collecting donations. Every year, huge sums of money are raised together with supporters of ARMEDANGELS. The money collected is then used to support organizations and partners who share ARMEDANGELS' vision of a better future. In 2020, ARMEDANGELS & Friends incredible 1,025,082.29 euros in donations collected!

Together with other brands and designers, ARMEDANGELS is supporting Sea-Watch eV in the newly founded initiative "Taking Responsibility" by the creative agency DOJO, in the form of an accompanying collection. Sea-Watch is committed to civilian sea rescue in the central Mediterranean every day. They have been fighting for years to ensure that no one has to die at Europe's sea borders. The profits from these limited collections go directly to Sea-Watch.

The initiative is supported by photographer Felix Krüger and celebrities such as Lena Meyer-Landrut, Palina Rojinksi, Caro Daur, Kida Khodr Ramadan and many others.

With a black square on Instagram, Racism and unfair policing is far from being resolved. One year after the death of Breonna Taylor, ARMEDANGELS has teamed up with Tamika D. Mallory to share her powerful speech entitled “Speech of a Generation” on a T-shirt as the first part of the fundraising campaign. (With lino artwork by Sophy Hollington).

As part of the German government's economic stimulus package, VAT was reduced by 3% from 19% to 16% between July 1 and December 31, 2020. If companies passed this on 1:1, consumer prices would effectively have fallen by around 2.5%. ARMEDANGELS did not pass on the tax cut, but instead negotiated with its customers Green Deal closed.

Organic cotton

The organic cotton used by ARMEDANGELS comes from controlled organic cultivation and is fairly traded. Sustainable and environmentally friendly. For natural clothing. ARMEDANGELS uses 100% Fairtrade certified organic cotton .

Organic wool

ARMEDANGELS uses exclusively mulesing- and chlorine-free wool from controlled organic livestock farming (kbT). "Mulesing" is the name given to a gruesome practice of removing the skin around the tail of sheep - without any painkillers. This is to prevent infestation with fly maggots. No human needs it, and certainly no sheep. In addition, the organic raw wool is RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified by ARMEDANGELS.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ is the The world's most environmentally friendly viscose fiber . The material is wonderfully light, feels pleasant on the skin and gives the clothing a silky, shiny look. This new cellulose fiber is obtained from European wood and produced locally in Austria by Lenzing. The new viscose at ARMEDANGELS: with a good look & feel - and a clear conscience... and MADE IN AUSTRIA .

Recycled plastic

Melted and cleaned PET bottles can be spun into yarn (rPET). ARMEDANGELS thus supports new recycling streams . To control microfiber abrasion, ARMEDANGELS uses rPET only as a fiber additive. This extends the life of the products of ARMEDANGELS .

Organic linen

Linen, a so-called flax plant, is a subshrub that belongs to the oldest cultivated plants Unlike conventional flax, organic linen is produced without the use of chemical pesticides, fertilizers, genetic engineering and heat roasting. Linen clothing is soft, durable, light and relatively resistant to dirt.

TENCEL™ 100% Cotton

Lyocell is a natural and Cellulose fiber is particularly sustainable because it is obtained from wood. The fiber production itself is particularly environmentally friendly due to a closed cycle (the solvent is used again and again).

kapok

Kapok, also called plant down, is one of the most sustainable fibers on the market today . The soft, silky hollow fiber is obtained from the tropical kapok trees and has remarkable properties. These include softness, water resistance, and good heat retention.

alpaca

The super-soft, light alpaca wool comes from Peruvian family farms that keep their herds in the Andes. Since alpacas only eat the upper part of the grass and do not pull the entire plant with roots out of the ground, the nutrient-rich soil is preserved. Due to the natural colors of the alpaca fibers, no dyeing processes are necessary. The associated environmental impact is therefore eliminated! Since wool made from alpaca fibers does not contain lanolin, it is hypoallergenic and therefore the perfect wool for people with sensitive skin.

TENCEL™ Cotton

Modal is a natural and particularly sustainable cellulose fibre of the Lenzing brand because it is made from wood. It is mainly obtained from the renewable raw material beech wood from FSC or PEFC-certified sustainable forestry in Austria and neighboring European countries. The combination of production in a closed cycle and the short transport routes significantly reduce the strain on the fiber.
